iTouch Holidays-post 1

Hi Friends!

The headlines of this past week compel us to continue to share the compassion of Christ with a world that needs to know His goodness and grace.

Our theme verse for this new series is James 1:27 which says "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."

The idea of touching others with the gospel of Jesus is not new but is as relevant today as it was a couple of thousand of years ago when Jesus came to earth to touch us with His love.

May we guard our hearts and minds and keep ourselves unpolluted from the world as we reach out to touch people with the compassion of Jesus this holiday season.

We are a sin-sick world but thanks be to God that Jesus is the Great Physician and the Bible assures us that His grace is sufficient for each of us who surrender our lives to His Will.

May people turn to Jesus this holiday season and find His love even through His church.

God's Peace,
Jeff

I like this verse. It talks about what we do and what we are. Taking care of widows and orphans is external, while keeping ourselves pure is internal. Taking care of someone requires getting off your seat. Unfortunately, becoming impure can happen anywhere, at any time, without moving a muscle. Staying pure is an effort, and it is worth the work.
