iTouch Holidays-post 2

Hi Friends!

This week at Connections we'll focus on touching people with the compassion of Christ as an act of thanksgiving for the blessings He has bestowed upon us.

We'll spend some time after our worship service this Sunday sharing a meal and reflecting on the Psalm of David recorded in I Chronicles 16.

We'll then look to receive a love-offering to assist the Kid's Against Hunger ministry in feeding orphans in under served areas of the world.

My hope is that one member of every family will lead their family on Thanksgiving Day in a reading and reflection of I Chronicles 16.

Why not take time to read that now? Reflect and record your gratitude for God's grace and then share that with others and encourage them to praise and thank God for their blessings as well.

In (I Chronicles 16:34) David says, "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever." I'm most grateful that God's goodness is unwavering and His love is unchanging and eternal!

God's Peace,
Jeff

A neat chapter! I have read it before, but not in the context of Thanksgiving Day. David blessed each person in Israel with food (bread and fruit cakes), but then it isn't mentioned again. The focus is not on the food, it's on God (a lesson I need to remember come Thursday).

And the praise is for God's character, God's glory, God's works, and God's promises. Timeless, from everlasting to everlasting.

I really like the last verse. Starting in 37, David has set up people to minister before the ark, to be gatekeepers, to offer burnt offerings, and to play musical instruments before God. Finally, in 43,

Then all the people left for their homes, and David returned home to bless his household.

After corporate worship, we still have family worship. God is in it all, and the family is at the base. David led the nation, and he also led his household. Thank you for leading our church, and also leading your family. You are setting a good example for us, but that is secondary. You are first carrying out your God-given responsibility.

Thank you for all you do. You are part of what I am thankful to God for.

Thank you. You are part of the reason we do what we do and we are grateful for the opportunity to serve.
